punch-drunk love

interesting directing technique by P.T. Anderson Posted by Hello

The movie starts with silent scenes.
It's funny how, even there's no music you know there's something wrong, special or whatever going to happen. And after a long quiet moment, there comes the car crash (symbolizing that there're new things 'crashing' into your life?!) and the harmonium dropping right in front of Barry from no where. The music doesn't begin until he reaches the harmonium which is played through out the movie.

Silence has so much emotion. If you just take time to listen, silence is a kind of music.

maybe...sometimes...we should all try to leave the emptiness alone...
stop filling colours into the inside of the black outline or to the white 'spaces'...
stop putting unnecessary music whenever you think silence is awkward...
enjoy the emptiness that allows us to see beyond our vision, hear beyond our audible frequency.

i like the blue ball with stars...
'...on the ground, lies a starry ball, representing melancholy.' ---a french national treasure first time in asia

p.s. the real thing is much more...magical
and why do they have to show it in a mall?
where people just take a look at the painting then go shopping?
hong kong is one weird place...
p.p.s. i have a friend called eunice... she always makes me happy without noticing it herself... i miss her and i love her... thx eunice

four seasons in 2 1/2 hours

'Four Seasons – à la Hong Kong. Probably completely different to what Vivaldi had in mind for his Four Seasons, Hong Kong has its own endearing signs of the seasons : Snowless Winters and leather jackets; long Autumn walks in country parks; occasional gale wind we call typhoons; sweltering Summers in air-conditioned shopping malls; and the wet wet walls which announce that Spring has arrived. How does the music go ?' ---http://www.hksinfonietta.org/
