Birth
A few days ago, we had an extra lesson on reproduction.
The teacher showed us some videos and I just couldn't forget those magical scenes. (it's sort of like those cult movies.)
Billions of sperms swim with all their energy just to seek for the egg-the reason of their lives. The scene was more romantic than that in any love story I have ever seen.
The fertilization, while the sperm met the egg, was much more amazing than those special effects produced by the most advanced technology.
The formation of embryo to morula then blastocyst seemed more surreal than any surreal movies. But then that's real!
Giving birth was more dramatic and touching than any dramas.
2mm may just be the tip of our finger nails, too small to be seen.
But then, a zygote is only 2mm in size when the egg has just been fertilized and it grows a hundred times within weeks.
We were all once only 2mm, how interesting.
After the labour and the contractions of the uterine muscles and abdominal muscles, a new life is born.
And the baby's cry indicates that air is going into its lungs and it is breathing normally.
It's funny.
When we first came into this world, we cried showing that we are alive and alright.
Within my 18 years of life, I cry from time to time.
Be it the tears of sadness or the tears of joy.
They show that I am still breathing and everything will be alright.
